Installation of the flag pole with "Confederate Battle Flag".

Statue erected and dedicated.

Approval of finished full scale clay statue by the Sons of Confederate Veterans Memorial Committee, and then delivery to the bronze art foundry.

Full size clay sculpture of face, body, clothing, accessories, boots & spurs, finished; now working on sculpting of sash, sword belt and Gen'l. Johnston's sword (based on his actual Civil War sword in Museum Of The Confederacy).

Start production of Bas-relief Sculptures (for awards & fundraising); precision sculpting of full size (20% larger than life) in clay continuing.

Febuary 2009
Start Memorial site planning at Bentonville Battlefield site.

 

December 2008
Sculpting of full size (20% larger than life) statue started, build up of clay onto the foam body core, and historically authentic clay detail sculpting underway.

 

November 2008
Master clay model approved and enlargement work (such as laser point-cloud photography and urethane foam milling machine work) for full size statue started.

 

October 2008
Master clay model (19 inch size) sculpted for larger than life-size bronze.

Bas-relief clay sculpture of selected drawing.

Initial drawings, sketch ideas of statue (body anatomy and action pose, facial expression, clothing, buttons, belt buckle, sword and sash, field glasses, spurs, etc.... authentic details); research of literature & artifacts in collections such as in Museum Of The Confederacy, and other historicals including Gen'l. Johnston re-enactor photos, etc.
